California College Republicans took back Hollywood at our 2010 California College Republicans convention

On April 23rd, California College Republicans took back Hollywood at our 2010 California College Republicans convention in Downtown Los Angeles. Over 300 College Republicans from across the state came together to hear from Republican leaders such as Secretary of State candidate Damon Dunn, Carly Fiorina and Chuck DeVore, candidates for U.S. Senate against Barbara Boxer, and conservative icon Andrew Breitbart.

The theme of the convention, “Taking Back Hollywood,” recognizes the need of Republicans to assert themselves in the public debate in all corners of our country. The powerful liberal media often sends the public misleading messages, which has to be heavily countered by the likes of Mr. Breitbart. College Republicans also launched a large rally in front of Los Angeles’ City Hall to show the need for substantive change on a local and state level. Additionally, the convention provided conservative activists with workshops and networking opportunities.

The weekend came to a conclusion with the election of the new California College Republican statewide board, with Michael Antonopoulos returning as chairman for a second term. The new board acknowledged the importance of the College Republicans in keeping the Republican Party on the path to victory in 2010. As the future of the Republican Party, it is important for College Republicans to be involved in turning our state and country around now.

On a final note, congratulations to Convention Director Alan Dana for executing a successful convention.
